Vans Vault Drops A New Striped Pack Ideal For The Summer Season https://cultedge.com/vans-vault-navy-white-striped-pack/ https://cultedge.com/vans-vault-navy-white-striped-pack/#respond Tue, 09 Jul 2019 01:10:53 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=49151 Vans Vault just dropped this brand new pack that should be on everyone’s Summer sneaker rotation. Dressed in the same motif throughout, the pack includes the Vans Vault Slip-On 59 VLT LX, the the Vans Vault Sk8-Hi Reissue VL and the Vans Vault Era 59 VLT LX.

Each pair is done in a Navy Blue and Marshmallow color scheme. All three pairs are constructed using a canvas material done in a striped pattern that should remind you of a picnic blanket aesthetic, don’t you think? That said, the Sk8-Hi also utilizes suede and leather overlays noted on the eyestay, toe, heel and side stripe to find a way to stand out from the pack. Traditional features such as White cotton laces, metal eyelets, and the Red Vans license plate branding on the vulcanized soles are all in play (where applicable).

Take a look at all three offerings above and pick up  any pair you like from select retailers such as SVD. Which pair are you feeling the most? Personally, if I’m looking to add one of these to my Summer rotation, it would definitely have to be the Vans Era. You can’t go wrong with any pair, but those are definitely at the top of my list.

Vans 5×5 Project: Vier OG Classic Slip-On Tiger/ Palm https://cultedge.com/vans-5-x-5-project/ https://cultedge.com/vans-5-x-5-project/#respond Sat, 09 Mar 2019 11:25:07 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=48360 Vans 5×5 Project: Reviewing the Vier OG Classic

This product of the Vans 5×5 project comes to us from the footwear brand’s work with Vier. Hailing from Antwerp, the brashly decorated brings their particular visual sensibility to this classic model.

The Vans 5×5 project originally releases back in the holiday season. It rounds off a pretty productive 2018 for the brand. What’s more, it does so in perhaps the best way possible. Along with retailers such as Slam Jam and WORKSOUT, Vans calls on Vier to reinterpret the Classic Slip-On.

Vier’s Visuals

The most readily apparent element here is going to be the shoe’s visuals on the upper. The theme of choice is a tiger-print, featuring prominently here.

Making sure to keep the Vans vibe, the shoe maintains a few beach-centric themes. Along the shoe’s ankle portion, we see a White palm tree graphic against a Black background. Along the midsole we also see a script reading “Vamos a la playa.”

Not only does that translate to “let’s go to the beach,” but it’s also the title of this cringe-worthy but catchy hit song. The upper’s wild visuals also come with a touch of notable quality. Far from being all about looks, Viers’s contribution to the Vans 5×5 project also comes with pony-hair detailing throughout.

Keeping the Comfort

This shoe is also a part of the brand’s efforts to make its products more comfortable. To this point, Vans sneakers aren’t quite known for all-day wearability. Consequently, we see the label looking to switch that reputation up a bit.

In that effort, details such as an UltraCush sock liner come in handy. The result is a surprisingly wearable design that sports all of the wild visuals that your eyes could need. This edition of the Vans 5×5 project is available now at Slam Jam Socialism.

Vans Staple Bold NI in Red and Blue https://cultedge.com/vans-staple-bold-ni/ https://cultedge.com/vans-staple-bold-ni/#respond Mon, 19 Nov 2018 20:33:57 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=47994 Skate style: Vans Staple Bold NI

Representing more of skate sneaker history, we take a look at the Vans Staple Bold NI. This shoe resembles much of what we see from the brand. It also comes with the same level of history. Vans start off as the peak of skate culture. Their footwear and gear are the earliest examples of west coast skate stylings.

The success that Vans see these days is about more than the skating. They find fans all over the world. What’s more, they go beyond skate culture. Rappers, singers, and artists of all sorts swear by the classic skate shoes.

Today, the Vans label spends its time in many sectors. They release remarkable iterations that celebrate everything from Van Gogh to NASA. Meanwhile, their vintage catalog remains undisputed. The Vans Staple Bold NI is a great example of this.

A Closer Look

vans staple bold ni red

The Vans Staple Bold NI comes with a very traditional build. The skater shoe goes through very little change over time. Back then, what works is a combination of durable uppers and sticky outsoles. Vans are informed enough to make sure they don’t fix what is far from broken.

To that end, the features on this shoe are fairly impressive. The upper is in a reverse T-shape that includes modern foxing tape and plenty of suede. There’s also a very sleek aesthetic here. This comes to us via a logo-free tongue and tonal stitching details.

Finally, the brand’s signature tech finishes things off nicely. A drop-in ULTRACUSH sock liner provides impressive cushioning. It also comes in an anatomically informed design. This helps the shoe move more naturally – both on the board and off.

Finding the Balance

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the Vans Staple Bold NI is how they achieve balance. These are vintage shoes from a cherished era. As such, many fans look for the most authentic representations in their shoes. Vans manage to bring that authenticity together with modern upgrades.

The result is the perfect piece of nostalgic footwear. You get to stomp in the Americana skater glory without sacrificing comfort or durability. The Vans Staple Bold NI is available in both Red and Blue at Mr. Porter.

Supreme Vans: A History of Collaborations https://cultedge.com/supreme-vans/ https://cultedge.com/supreme-vans/#respond Tue, 05 Jun 2018 14:19:38 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=45842 Supreme Vans: A History of Collaborations

To understand the story of Supreme Vans collaborations is to get at the core of hype. The footwear industry boasts several instances when subtle marketing techniques lead to huge results.

Limiting supply, bringing big-name collaborators, it’s all part of the game. And yet, there are levels even there. Sure, picking out a fashion heavyweight for a project partner usually does the trick.

But, it’s an entirely different ball game when that partner happens to be one of the most hype-worthy names in the world of fashion. The Supreme Vans journey effectively begins with one word: audacity.

Supreme Vans
The 1996 Vans x Supreme Old Skool, via Supreme

Beginnings

James Jebbia, Supreme’s understated founder, could very well be the most audacious man in streetwear. For starters, his origin story includes journeying to New York from the U.K. in the early 80s with just $100 to his name – at the age of 19.

Ask Jebbia, and he’ll tell you it was nothing. «New York at that time was very inexpensive, and it was very easy to get a job,» he said in an interview with GQ.

It’s that sort of thinking – rendering him seemingly oblivious to his challenges – that paves Supreme’s way. Even the notion of a Supreme Vans collection was a bit of a pipe dream for the smaller of the two brands.

Kicking Things Off in ’96

Supreme Vintage Ad

Perhaps the most intriguing element of this partnership is how much change each brand goes through individually. Specifically, what shifts is the power dynamic when it comes to their positions within skate culture.

In 1996, when the Supreme x Vans Old Skool first releases, things are a bit different. Supreme is still trying to find its footing.

It’s still a small operation trying to stick to making quality goods for skaters. Shoes are far from being in their future at this point in time.

Sure, Jebbia speaks of his early vision often these days, but the early going doesn’t include sneaker heat. The Old Skool changes this because it was probably the best way to kick off this partnership.

The Leopard Print collection, via Supreme

Appetizer

For the good folks over at Vans, this is the standard bearer for all of their footwear designs. For the Vans x Supreme collection, it proves to be the first subtle piece of what goes on to represent the very height of hype.

This banger of a collab drops as a completely American made shoe. Additionally, the overwhelming majority of the Supreme Vans Old Skool was pretty standard. But, the highlight is the Red box branding along the shoe’s lace eyestay.

It makes for a heck of a preview as the oncoming releases represent some vivid imagination. Unfortunately, it’s an eight-year wait until the two come together yet again.

Supreme x Vans going wild on the Half Cab, via Supreme

Gaining Their Footing

But, of course, they do it big. In 2004, the pair gets together again for a whopping collection of twelve Supreme Vans in an assortment of colorways. The Old Skool is once again part of this drop, this time joining the Sk8-Hi for a pretty unique release.

In the eight years since their first drop, Supreme manages to develop a reputation for outlandish design that always seems just slightly ahead of its time.

They reflect this sensibility in that 2004 release, dressing each shoe in a graphic depicting FBI documents. After absolutely setting the Supreme Vans Spring lineup on fire, they go and manage to release even more for that year.

2004 rounds the corner with an autumn theme release of the Half Cab and Chukka Boot. Each receives the Supreme treatment and takes it on fluently.

The Vans x Supreme “Evil Empire” collection, via Supreme

Keeping Pace

In 2005, we see more fire thanks to new patterns on some oldies. Once again, the Old Skool and Sk8-Hi are the main focus of that year’s drop. This time, a graphic of Black Stars take up the majority of the room on the uppers.

The varying executions here are quite interesting, seemingly taking advantage of each model’s different build. The Sk8-Hi employs more flamboyant patterning and contrasting side stripes. Meanwhile, the Old Skool boasts much smaller Black stars.

2006 and 2007 see more of a focus on the Half Cab. These Supreme vans release in some very boisterous color schemes. 2006, somehow, includes the release of three seasonal drops from Vans and Supreme.

It’s worth noting that these releases include some imaginative interpretations of the Sk8-Hi model as well.

Yet, the highlight of this collection is the intriguing use of the Vans checkerboard graphic on the Half Cab. A creative combination of colors and patterning sees the shoe’s upper transform into something almost abstract and artistic.

More Heat

Following that was a year that sees a massive release of Supreme Vans. 2007 is littered with more Half Cab, Chukka Boot, and Old Skool heat.

Again, Supreme adopts patterns gracefully, fitting the Old Skool and Chukka Boot in dots. The Half Cab gets another tonal look that year, taking a break from the previous extravagance.

The years to follow include more variations of the same shoes we mention above. The one brief exception is the use of the Era model. But, in 2011, fans get something a little more interesting.

For 2018, the Vans x Supreme “Skull Pile” drop, via Supreme

Re-branding a Fallout

That year’s collection of Supreme Vans, once more, centers around the Old Skool to bring it back to where it all starts. But, this time around, Supreme also throws in an old-school gem: the MC.

This was the last shoe made for Mike Carroll before he left Vans for a DC sponsorship deal. In one of the most Supreme-ish moves imaginable, not only do they decide to bring the shoe back, they also swap out Carroll’s signature on the tongue with the Supreme box logo.

For the next nearly a decade to follow, Supreme opts to test out some truly remarkable patterning on Vans classics.

A closer look at the Skull Pile Sk8-Hi, via Supreme

Prints and Things

Going from the good old Skater shoe to some Supreme Vans meant that there had to be some brash designs involved. Some of the highlights there include the Floral look. Working with artist Peter Saville, Supreme decks the Old Skool out in a bold floral print.

It’s that sort of move that prompts the design of contemporary Supreme Vans. The Sk8-Mid makes a rare appearance in 2017 and takes on premium suede and leopard print. Even before then, in 2015, the partners were experimenting with camouflage on the Sk8-Mid and Old Skool models.

Figuring that, it’s hardly a surprise to see their work in 2018 include a Skull pile graphic pattern on the Old Skool. It would also not be a surprise to see much more Supreme Vans dropping in the near future.

Vans Old Skool “Patchwork” Factory Floor https://cultedge.com/vans-old-skool-factory-floor-size-exclusive/ https://cultedge.com/vans-old-skool-factory-floor-size-exclusive/#respond Thu, 12 Apr 2018 11:04:44 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=42746 Vans Old Skool “Patchwork” Factory Floor is a Size Exclusive

The Vans Old Skool “Patchwork” Factory Floor is the answer if are you feeling fed up with normal black and white Vans. If you feel like standing out from the crowd instead of looking like everyone else you have to grab these.

However, these Vans Old Skool Size exclusive are a limited edition of 600 pairs. So, you’ll probably have to make some moves.

The last time that Size? collaborated with Vans was three years ago. It sure seems like a lifetime, but it is definitely been worth the wait. The Old Skool is, yet again, the chosen model – after all, they are one of the most iconic silhouettes of all time.

Inspired by the Vans Anaheim factory

Sure, they are “just a pair of Old Skools”, but look again. Thematically, this Size? exclusive Vans Old Skool gathers inspiration from the very first Vans Anaheim factory in California, USA.

Plus, the patchwork is a mash-up of materials that pay homage to the excess off-cuts found on the floor of the workshop from back then. You know, any regular shoe needs to be “tied” and sewn together, hence the surplus.

Having spent over 60 years in the spotlight, with its ups and downs, of course, these Size? x Vans Old Skool “Factory Floor” are now delivered with 15 different patterned and textured materials across the upper, meaning both the left and right shoes are completely different from one another.

Moreover, adding more to the individual nature of each shoe, there will be variations on the plaid, camo and spotted panels.

These limited edition and Size? exclusive Vans Old Skool are set to drop on Friday, 13th of April on all Size? locations and online. They will be priced at £70.

Let us know down in the comment section what you think of these. And, while you’re still around, check out the Top 8 Vans Old Skool colorways available to buy now.

Vans Past and Present

Vans UA Old Skool 36 DX Anaheim

Vans was created by Paul and Jim Van Doren with the help of Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. The brand opened its doors for the first time on March 16 in 1966 at 704 E. Broadway in Anaheim, California.

Their way of business was so avant-garde that during their first morning, 12 customers were already lined up to purchase shoes. They would be available for pick up that same afternoon.

In other words, the brand started by manufacturing shoes within their own factory and sell them directly to the public. Such new approach, at the time, created a long-lasting relationship between the shop itself and the clients.

Even if they came across a few bumps throughout the years, Vans is considered one of the largest footwear (and not only) companies across the globe. The Vans brand is linked to skate, BMX, surf, and many others sports.

Plus, the created silhouettes merge the best when it comes to casual and high fashion looks (that is right, you can now wear a pair of Old Skool with a suit). To conclude, we can say that there’s no brand like Vans.

The shoes are versatile as well as durable and timeless. You can never go wrong with a pair, believe it or not.

Top 10 Best Vans Slip-Ons https://cultedge.com/best-vans-slip-ons/ https://cultedge.com/best-vans-slip-ons/#respond Tue, 27 Feb 2018 13:31:15 +0000 https://cultedge.com/?p=40196 Top 10 Best Vans Slip-Ons Available to Buy Now

Looking to buy the best Vans Slip-Ons? We are going to show you the best deals and the best and most recent versions of the forever classic model. As a brand, Vans is arguably the best representation of this aesthetic, mirroring the surfer/ skater ideals in their footwear. That vast collection includes some of the most memorable drops to date.

Models like the Vans Old Skool or the Vans Sk8-Hi are just two of the brand’s classics. However, the Vans Slip-On has a place of its own. The shoe stands as one of the most popular sneakers on the planet, and for good reason. Get a good look and buy the Top 10 best Vans Slip-Ons available now.

Vans Yacht Club Slip-On

Via Vans

This is pretty much an essential iteration of the Slip-On. The roots of this shoe are in that of a boat shoe, making this something a low-key celebratory pair.

One of the more interesting things about this colorway is the use of color blocking on the three segments of the shoe. Sure, Vans models do usually feature some playful execution, but the contrasting colors here are noteworthy.

Every panel’s individual color stands out from the other two, seemingly by design. This goes back to one of the many reasons why the Slip-On is still so popular, consistent design.

Vans x Metallica Slip-On

The Vans crew have a habit brewing here. This Metallica collab is the third between the two partners and it spans a capsule collection that includes a t-shirt and trucker hat. For our purposes, it also makes for a gorgeous colorway.

The new Metallica logo sits on each shoe’s vamp, seemingly jumping out at you. The decision to color this Vans Slip-On Black is a great one, considering the subject matter. The heavy metal band is known for their darker aesthetic, part of their Hall-of-Fame-worthy run in the music business.

Vans x Sponge Bob Slip-On

Via Vans

I don’t know how much explanation you need for these. If you need something other than the words “Vans x Nickelodeon,” we clearly have different childhood stories. The Vans crew continue to know their fanbase and combine extravagant colors with a cartoon icon.

The result is one of the best Vans Slip-Ons you can find anywhere. This is another gem of a collaboration for the brand, sporting its own collection of other similarly styled models. You could always use more Spongebob in your life, so do it in style!

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On Black “Made for the Makers”

Consider this iteration a shoutout to all of you creatives out there. Vans releases this version of the Slip-On as a celebration of the “makers,” or those of us who express creativity through crafting.

A large portion of the brand’s fanbase falls into this category. Surfboard shapers, tattoo artists, barbers, Vans wanted to make sure they took care of everyone with this drop.

For its part, the Slip-On in this release features a focus on comfort and durability. The upper’s canvas build is joined by an UltraCush inner lining for all-day comfort. The outsole gets some alteration as well, boasting a thicker “lugged” rubber.

The additional elements make for even more comfort and durability while you’re on the job. The All-Black colorway is also a great touch. For those of us who spend a lot of time working with paints and the like, it’s one of the best Vans Slip-Ons out there.

Where to Buy:

Vans x Peanuts Slip-On Checkerboard Classic

Via Vans

The magic of Charles M. Schulz’s characters is brought to life on this piece of the Vans x Peanuts collection. Yet another blast from childhood past, this partnership involves a re-imagination of the Vans aesthetic by incorporating colorful elements of children’s cartoons. The pair work really well together, as we see even more from the Vans x Peanuts collection with time.

The latest from the drops include a Christmas capsule from last year. This iteration features an all-over print execution featuring all of the characters from the iconic cartoon. Also sporting a Black base, it makes for quite the striking visual.

There are no functional changes in this model. But, that’s not really the point of this special colorway.

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On Women’s Translucent Rubber

Via Vans

Perhaps the most classic feature of the Vans look is the checkerboard design. Here, we get a look at a clever play on that, featuring an interesting swapping of base materials.

This Slip-On model boasts one of the louder colorways in this build. The color itself is fairly muted, featuring here in a Lavender look. But, it’s that difference in materials that helps this shoe really stand out.

The translucent rubber, normally an aspect for special outsoles, coats the midsole here as well. The upper also seems to be sporting an extra synthetic layer that adds a noticeable gloss.

As is usually the case with women’s colorways, this iteration is gorgeous. The lining is in a bright Red hue to compliment the rest of the look, giving off some bold and romantic vibes. This is one of the more recent looks for the legendary Slip-On.

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On Rose Thorns

Via Vans

Another fire colorway for the ladies. This edition of the Slip-On features one more interpretation of the Black base upper. The main draw here is, of course, the graphic on the vamp.

Vans seem to always make great use of that space on their sneakers, particularly on this model. The shoe isn’t just made of canvas, it practically is a canvas.

This is a running theme for the brand, constantly encouraging their fans and consumers to go crazy and make each shoe their own. This version also sports some usual functional features that help sell it.

The ankle collar sports some comfortable padding, coming together nicely with the lining. Beyond the Rose graphic, this can come across as a painfully dry colorway but consider an option.

This edition comes with plenty of space for you to absolutely go to town on. Pop out those markers and get creative!

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-Ons Leather Embroidered

Via Vans

In case you’re wondering if the ladies are going to be the only ones with the Rose theme shoes, you’re in luck. This special iteration comes with even more of the floral vibes via some extra rose graphics.

This time, it takes on the form of an embroidery, adding some nuance to this sneaker’s look. Additionally, the base material for this iteration strays a bit from what we usually see on the Slip-On.

A rich leather takes on those duties, helping certain smaller details stand out. Specifically, the stitching details seem more prominent thanks to the more premium upper.

The White color on this edition also serves as an appropriate contrast to the Rose detail. All in all, this is a crisp standout look for the usually lowkey sneaker.

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On Checkerboard Classic

Vans slip On Checkerboard Classic
Via Vans

There was no way to actually do this sort of list without including the OG of Vans. No list of the best Vans Slip-Ons is remotely complete without including the Checkerboard look.

Unlike the other we mentioned, there aren’t any special details or graphics here. Instead, this look simply reminds us of the brand’s rise to global icon status.

It’s also the shoe some of us may remember seeing the film Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Sean Penn wears this exact colorway on the popular movie, bringing a surprise marketing effect to both the shoe and the brand.

This colorway also connects us to the early days of the Slip-On, back when it first releases as “Style #98.” This is a point in time when the company doesn’t quite see the huge potential of the shoe. Somehow, intending to just sell another sneaker, the brand stumbles upon a legendary gem.

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On Checkerboard Apple Butter

Via Vans

Frankly, this makes our best Vans Slip-Ons list on the back of its nickname alone. The “Apple Butter” iteration is more of the classic checkerboard aesthetic we know and love the brand.

The color variation makes sure you have a distinctly different option to go to. It’s also a great look to pair up with some bright denim you have laying around.

This is another one of the Slip-On releases that feature absolutely no animal-based products in its build. From the base materials down to the adhesives, this is effectively a vegan piece of footwear.

Where to Buy:

Vans Slip-On: you can’t go wrong

Judging by this list, one thing is abundantly clear to you by now: you simply cannot go wrong. The sheer number of options that you get from the Vans line-up makes this sort of list very difficult to put together.

The label has been around for enough decades that the variety is plain to see. In fact, it really seems like Vans are just not done with their Slip-On experimentation. In the last few months alone, we see news about upcoming work that Vans are doing with several different names in fashion and beyond.

Frankly, we can expect to see much more variety from Vans on all of their silhouettes. From weather-ready variety to more high fashion collabs, the sky’s the limit for Vans this year.

While we wait for what they’ve got cooking, check out more the brand’s Men’s and Womens’ offerings available to buy now.

Vans History and Background

For those of us who aren’t quite familiar with the shoe, some history is in order. As a legendary name among the early titans of action sports, the story of Vans kicks off as you might expect. Consider the fact this is a shoe that, for many people, associated with action sports.

If your sport involves ramps and getting air, you know what Vans stand for. Yet, this contrasts with the company’s founding aims. When founder Paul Van Doren and his brothers originally open up shop, that was more or less the aim.

Skaters find themselves in need of a certain type of shoe in the 60s and 70s. Doren and co. give them something remarkable and memorable.

vans slip on dx souvenir black
Vans Slip-On DX Souvenir Black – Available at Vans

The company becomes extremely popular, particularly within the BMX scene in the 1970s. But, prior to this, skaters take a certain liking to the brand’s offerings as well.

The original appeal comes from the innovative outsole on many of their products. The waffle pattern is thick and robust without taking away from board feel. It’s interesting to note that this current lifestyle brand starts its life as a functional marvel.

By Design

Another notable aspect is how the company actually puts these shoes together. Let’s take the Slip-On model as an example. Each shoe comes in 18 essential pieces, which sounds tricky. But, it pales in comparison to the modern sneaker build.

The upper on the slip-on breaks down into the heel counter, the vamp, and the quarter panel. Most of us wear sneakers that come in double that amount of sections. This relatively simple build makes meeting high demand that much easier (even if simple there are really totally premium versions such as the Vans Slip-On Corduroy seen here).

It’s also key for the shoe spreading its figurative wings all across the United States. The transition into the lifestyle market is actually very logical for Vans. Not only is it the smart call for any sneaker manufacturer, it’s also what the brand starts out as.

Vans is all about California

Though it has roots in action sports, as we mentioned above, the Slip-On actually introduces itself initially as a simple boat shoe. Taking that upper design and mixing it with the waffle midsole makes this purpose feasible.

California culture is about as unique as an aesthetic gets. It is an iconic style and aesthetic that we recognize at first sight. For most of us, it really doesn’t take long to spot an iconic Cali-friendly look. It represents a lifestyle that centers on breeziness, lack of outside stress, and, of course, warm California temperatures. Vans is all about that unique feeling.

Camo sneakers, or camo print trainers, whatever way you call it, they are for sure always going to make a strong visual statement. It could be camouflage shoes by Nike, New Balance, Asics, whatever the brand for that matter.

In between so many options and from time to time, brands collaborate with one another to create real camo-patterned sneakers bangers. From Nike to Reebok, from camouflage shoes by Vans to New Balance and also unreleased pairs. We have it all covered just for you.

BAPE x Mita Sneakers x Reebok Insta Pump Fury OG “Camo”

As part of the 20th Anniversary of the Insta Pump Fury, Japanese giants BAPE and Mita Sneakers have joined forces to create a camo version of this retro-tech and laceless silhouette.

As expected, it was delivered in an all-over camo patterned upper with a mesh toebox. Contrasting with its full-white midsole, you will be able to find a black heel featuring BAPE’s Bapesta logo embroidered.

BAIT x ASICS GEL-Lyte III “Basics Model-001 Vanquish”

There was a time where ASICS created some hype. We are not saying that they do not create some as of today, however, it has decreased in huge amounts. Even though collaborations still have a great sell out rates, we can’t compare it to how it was before.

Dubbed the “Vanquish”, these GEL-Lyte III display a black suede and textile camouflaged upper while premium details are seen on the wire-mesh accents and gold brandings. This is the first pair that released out of three; in our opinion, it is the one that stands out the most.

Nike Air Maxim 1 SP German Camo

We all know that the Air Maxim 1 is not everyone’s favorite. We share your thoughts and feelings, no doubt. However, there’s one that exceeds all expectations and is most probably the best Air Maxim 1 of all time.

Part of the “Country Camo” Pack and displaying an incredibly bold camouflage print on the upper, this silhouette is built using hyperfuse and canvas.

adidas Originals NMD R1 x BAPE

If all of this goes around camo-colorways, expect to find many BAPE sneakers. The camo pattern barely changes, but somehow, everyone just keeps on loving it.

As the relationship between adidas and A Bathing Ape goes back many years, it was obvious that one of the most coveted silhouettes of recent times would be released in a collaboration.

Dressed in a full bape-camo upper, the NMD sits on top of a full-length white Boost midsole and black outsole.

Shoe Gallery x Reebok Classic Leather R12 “Flamingoes at War”

Straight out of Miami, we get an unexpected color mixing, especially on a Reebok. It is true you don’t get to see many of these Reebok Classic Leather R12 floating around, not even at reseller websites, nevertheless, they are true bangers.

Bright-pink suede can be found at the toebox while the rest is covered in camo-print. In addition, the shoe displays a brown leather sockliner, black midsole and gum outsole.

atmos x ASICS GEL-Lyte V

After all, we are all familiar with atmos collaborations. Hence, the Japan-based sneaker-shop is no stranger when it comes to camo-prints in their creations.

Using the classic woodland camo pattern on the suede upper, this pair was quite limited around the world. The atmos x Asics Gel-Lyte V sit on top of a gumsole and white outsole while black details are seen around the toebox and heel, complemented by black leather Tiger Stripes.

Supreme x NikeLab Air Jordan V “Desert Camo”

We all know that Supreme and Nike sustain a long-lasting partnership. This time, it was Jordan Brand that took the gold medal home.

Dubbed the “Desert Camo”, for obvious reasons, these Jordan V came out better than what we all expected. While white mesh details are seen on the side panel, the “23” PE branding on the heel is exchanged with a “94” – an homage to the skateshop’s first year in business.

BAPE x UNDFTD x adidas Consortium Superstar 80s

Yet again, we go back to Japan. Two main imprints, BAPE and UNDFTD, teamed up with adidas Consortium to create a clean and sleek Superstar. Discrete yet powerful, this sneaker displays the iconic BAPE camo print on the tongue and lining.

In addition, details are seen on the gold touches around the heels that show the UNDFTD brandings and the Ape head. Three colorways were released – black, grey and white. However, this colorway, in particular, stands out the most to us.

Nike Air Pegasus 89 “Reunification”

If you have seen any Nike Pegasus around, most probably you won’t look twice. In fact, they even end up in outlets. But there’s at least one exception to every rule.

The Nike Air Pegasus 89 “Reunification” was released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the so-called German Reunification. The silhouette is dressed in olive green with camo details across the upper.

Plus, they are finished off with a black swoosh and black midsole. For last but not least, the resell prices on this pair sky-rocketed.

Footlocker Exclusive New Balance 990V4 “Camo”

This is an odd one, and most probably you have never seen or heard about it, even though they only released a few weeks back. There’s a good reason behind it: they were footlocker exclusive and they did not launch in many of them.

These New Balance 990V4 are built using premium cream suede and canvas while details are seen in desert-camo mesh on the upper. Made in the USA, these semi-camo 990V4 are a must have, if you can find them.

BAPE x Mita Sneakers x Reebok Insta Pump Fury OG “City-Camo”

Another close-to-perfection iteration of the Reebok Insta Pump Fury is done by BAPE and Mita Sneakers, from Japan. The three have given this classic silhouette a city-camo leather upper altogether with glow-in-the-dark details. Furthermore, you will be able to find BAPE branding on the heel.

atmos x Nike Air Max 1 “Army Camo” / “Tiger Camo”

Dubbed the “Army Camo” and/or “Tiger Camo”, Nike partnered up with Atmos from Japan to produce, yet again, another iteration of the Air Max 1. Delivered with a luxurious black snakeskin material on the toebox, upper quarter and tongue, they sit on top of a white midsole.

BAPE x UNDFTD x adidas Consortium ZX 5000

Streetwear giant UNDFTD joined forces with BAPE and adidas to create one of the best three-stripes collaboration that has ever released. Yes, ever.

They are quite a sought-after pair and almost impossible to find in DS condition. The shoe is delivered in a traditional ape-camo with classic tricolor stripes. Are they the best adidas of “recent” times? Hard to say, no doubt, but they stand a chance.

atmos x Asics GEL-Lyte III “Duck Camo”

atmos has a long-lasting relationship almost with every brand on the planet. Asics is no different, hence, following their most sober release of all time during the 25th Anniversary of the GEL-Lyte III, Japan’s finest released another GL3.

Using a duck-camo colorway, combined with a black mesh toebox, side vamps, and split-tongue. The tiger stripes are delivered in black leather.

Vans x Supreme Old Skool 2015

vans old skool supreme 2015

Vans and Supreme got together for another epic collaboration back in 2015. Back then, and apart from the three different camo colorways of the Old Skool presented here, there were also three pairs of the Vans Sk8-Mid with the same colorways.

Green camo, yellow and dark orange and blue camo tones covered this new age classic model. If years ago they looked great, now they seem to look even better.

Nike Air Force 1 SF “Desert Camo”

Ready to tackle any weather condition, the “Desert Camo” iterations displays a camo-pattern that was originally used by the US Military during the 70s, influenced by the deserts of California. This AF1-on-steroids displays dual-straps at the ankle, a leather swoosh, and tonal laces.

BAPE x mita Sneakers x Reebok Question “1st Camo”

Celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the infamous Reebok Question, Allen Iverson’s signature sneakers, BAPE and mita Sneakers joined forces with Reebok, yet again, to present a classic silhouette with a modern twist.

Dubbed the “1st Camo”, the Question is dressed in BAPE’s original camo-pattern and built using durable ballistic nylon. Details are seen in the felt toe-caps in olive green as well as BAPE brandings on the lace-loops and of course, their star logo appears in place of the number 3 on each heel.

Nike Air Max 1 SP Camo Germany (Friends & Family)

Arguably one of the best Air Max 1 out there, these were released for Friends & Family only, celebrating Nike’s flagship grand opening in Berlin.

It is said that only 50 pairs were made and as expected, be ready to pay an arm and a leg for them, if you can find them. No need to say much more, what a masterpiece!

Nike Air Max 1 MC “USA Camouflage”

With this list of camo sneakers that we have done just for you, we can just see how strong Nike has been throughout the years in such terms. You are right, we don’t get tired of it.

The Nike Air Max 1 USA Camouflage uses the traditional USA sand and bison colorway on the upper as well as light brown canvas panels altogether with a hyperfused toebox.

Nike Lebron 9 Low “War Vet” (PE)

To finish our list, we are going to tell you about a PE pair that never hit the market. In addition, we can say that the Lebron 9 Low is one of our favorite silhouettes from the one and only Mr. James.

The camo upper of this court-shoe sits on top of a black midsole and gum outsole. The inspiration behind the sneaker ends up being quite simple, even though you may not see it at first glance.

The pattern is meant to signify Lebron going to “war”, battling out for the championship for so many straight years.
