The Rise and Fall of The Clash | A documentary film
In the late 70s, everybody knew there was no future, yet punk rock and all its attitude and aesthetics had still a lot to give.
The Clash were a band that decided there were other ways of celebrating the prophesized end of days, namely by creating songs that even though far from celebrating happy times, gave us some kind hope, even if an inflamed one.
“The Rise and Fall of The Clash” is a documentary film, directed by Danny Garcia and David Mingay, presenting some never seen footage of the band that gave us ‘London Calling’. Included are also interviews with each member of the band, and with selected figures that knew Joe Strummer, Mick Jones and the rest of the muchachos.
The film, which is set for a DVD release and to be presented by an elected number of TV networks worldwide, will premiere this month at the Transmissions Festival in Madrid, and a week later at the New York’s CBGB’s Festival, on July 5th.
